One Year!

It is hard to believe that we have completed our first year here in Peru!  One year ago today, we arrived here in Lima.  This year has flown by!  God has without a doubt shown himself strong and has done an incredible work both in our ministry and in our personal lives.  Thank you for believing in us and investing in us.  Everything that has been accomplished would not have been if not for you and your church.
Reminisce with us in our first year in Peru.

Our first "official" church service as Iglesia Bautista Internacional de Chorrillos, Lima, Peru.  31 in attendance with 3 saved.

3 church plants later, a strong IBI Chorrillos.  This was last Sunday night, June 16.  148 in attendance.

Our 2nd church plant, IBI San Genaro, the church that I pastor on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

All being said, 4 churches started and 1,432 saved in our first year.  We serve an amazing God!

As thrilled as I am about the numbers, I know and realize the greatest value is in the value of one.  The value of one soul...one life changed for ever.  One life learning to make a difference in the lives of others.  This has been the greatest blessing of our ministry here in Peru.

The 2 young ladies below are a perfect example of this.  Alexandra Alvites and Carol Silva are great young ladies with a heart to serve God.  They help in my children's program in our San Genaro church.  A couple of weeks ago, they sang this song as a special in our church.  It is derived from John 3:16 and is one of my favorite songs.  It tells the story beautifully...we are here because of the love of God.  I know that most of you will not be able to understand the words, but take a moment to listen to this song.  Take a moment to think about what God's love has done for you.  Take a moment to realize what God's love is doing in Peru.  Take a moment to notice what the love of God is doing in the lives of these young ladies.  And then realize that there are so many more we need to show the love of God to over the next many years.  Thank you for having a part in Team Peru and especially in the Martin family.
